The Adventure Begins
Life is too short to be just like everyone else.
Several years ago, we made a big move to a small town. And like many small towns in the middle of nowhere North Dakota, buildings sit empty and businesses are non-existent. We decided to invest in our community and bought a little empty cafe building, and with that purchase, our journey begins,
In doing a little research, we discovered that our little building was built in 1892, and served as the first official school house for the community of Fingal, N.D. That one-room school house taught the area children for about seven years, up to the time a new four-room, more modern building was constructed. It was then purchased, moved, and was made into a home for a family, eventually it landed in downtown Fingal, N.D. and become a cafe.
We choose to name our new space after the placard that hangs by the front door. Welcome to Fingal District No. 54, a studio for Laurie O Designs, along with a retail space and a small, private gathering area. Welcome to Fingal District No. 54, you will find all sorts of custom designed good stuff for you, your home, and your business.
